Rifan Hardian, was born in 1986 in Banjaran-Bandung, Indonesia. He completed elementary and middle high school in his hometown and continued high school at SMAN 11 Bandung. Started university as an undergraduate student in 2004 at Department of Chemistry Education UPI Bandung (Indonesia) and graduated in 2008. He went for a master degree in 2010 to 2012 with a double degree scholarship from BKLN at Padjadjaran University (Indonesia) majoring in Environmental Science and University of Twente (The Netherlands) majoring in Environmental and Energy Management. After completed both master degrees, he took another double master degrees sponsored by Erasmus Mundus scholarship in France at Institut National Polthecnique de Grenoble (INPG) majoring in MSc of Functionalised Advanced Materials & Engineering and Technische Universitat Darmstadt – Germany majoring in Materials Science, from 2012 to 2014. His enthusiast in science encouraged him to pursue a doctoral study in material science at MADIREL Lab, CNRS, Aix-Marseille University in France supported by the award from Marie-Sklodowska Curie Action fellowship (2015-2018). He has also spent some great times at different research institutes (Institut Néel in France, Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht in Germany, and Inorganic Chemistry Lab Oxford University in the UK) as part of his scientific adventures.
